I Love the Outfit…it’s SO YOU!!

As I stared at my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but wonder who this old lady was looking back at me. Trying on clothes meant for a sweet, sexy 20-year-old only added to the shock. Gone were the power suits of my high-flying executive days in my 40s, 50s, and 60s. Parkinson's had cruelly robbed me of my beloved high heels, too.

Despite these setbacks, I still refused to embrace the expected, boring fashion of a 72 year-old. No, I craved unique, artistic, and shocking pieces. And so, my fashion lesson began. Now, the woman staring back at me in the mirror is undeniably me, unapologetically different and stylish.

I made a vow to myself to fully embrace this new chapter of fashion in my life. Gone were the days of playing it safe with my wardrobe choices - now, I was ready to take risks and have some fun with my style.

I decided to document my fashion journey with 10-second photos and witty dialogue to showcase my unique looks. But I knew I couldn't do it alone - I needed help, comments, suggestions, and interaction from others to truly elevate my fashion game.

So here's to stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new trends, and making a statement with my outfits. After all, fashion is all about having fun and expressing yourself, so why not embrace it with a touch of humor along the way? Let the fashion adventures begin!

BEFORE

MY 40’s.

My 50’s

My 60’s

Since my DBS surgery, I've gained 10lbs and bid adieu to my beloved high heels – curse you, Parkinson's! Gone are the days of power suits and corporate meetings, replaced by a life of casual art and comfort. But just because I've traded the boardroom for a more laid-back lifestyle doesn't mean I can't still make a fierce, edgy statement with my fashion choices. From chairing council meetings to running errands, I'm determined to show the world that style knows no boundaries, even if my heels do!

NOW my 70’s.

From Amazon. I love these pants and have decided to get some in black and forest green. They are super comfortable and light. Wearing them in Florida weather is a breeze. Casual however sharp enough to wear out for casual dinner.

I am not too sure about this one. Boring I would say however, could be a good Board meeting outfit. I do love the pants….I have them in off white as well. 100% Linen. Also from Amazon.

How cute and zany is this. Little satin black dress from Zara. Worn with Doc Marten boots and denim jacket. Great for dinner out on the town or minus the jacket and trade out boots for flip flops…comfy for a Sunday pool party.
